Marsel is in Miami

Marsel's coach, Can Uner, posted in his facebook account that Team Marsel is in Miami now.

He also told that their first match of elimination would be on Monday.

Draw should be out till Sunday evening.

Good luck Marsel!

Ranking Stuff

Marsel gained 20 points this week. If there won't be much of a change in points of players that are higher ranked than him (yes, i couldn't follow them), he should be #115 ahead of Haider-Maurer (Haydar, as we call him) at the end of this week.

When wee look at the points he has to defend this month and next month, we find ourselves in a positive mood. He has to defend 41 points in Miami, this is important. Besides that he has to defend 10 points in Barcelona and thats it for April. In May he has to defend 60 points he gained from challenger events. This means 111 points for the next 2 months.

He compensated 20 points of this 111 points in Le Gosier as there is no more points for him to defend for March. As he is getting better and better on clay, i think he can reach top 100 again in clay season. This would be important for Wimbledon. At this point it seems impossible that he can enter main draw of Roland Garros directly. As the situation for Wimbledon will be clear in the first week of May, so next month will be very important for Marsel.

Haydi Marsel!

Marsel Hopped Out at Quarters

Yesterday Marsel lost his match against Stephane Robert with 63-62. Robert was ahead of Marsel in head to head with 2-0 before this match. I suppose this would mean his game doesn't suit Marsel. Just like James Ward.

Anyway he didn't lose much of a time here, he can go and get ready for Miami. He gained 20 points from this tournament.

Marsel in the quarters!

I think, this blog is aispicious for Marsel! His win against Duclos was predictable but this one against Kamke was a surprising and significant result. Marsel beats Kamke from Germany, 7-6(4) 6-3 in his second round match in Le Gosier.

His quarter final opponent will be Pablu Andujar from Spain or Stephane Robert from France. I prefer Andujar for Marsel which is very bad on hard courts but in every way he has a great chance. I'm expecting him beating Andujar/Robert. The match will be played tomorrow. Haydi (which means "come on" in English) Marsel!

Marsel's Run Will Continue in Doubles

Marsel won his first round match in singles today but he lost in doubles with his partner Mina; 64-75. No problem; anyway he had a tough time yesterday considering all those rain delay problems.

His match today with Kamke will start at 5 pm, local time.

First win of the season from Marsel!

Marsel who is playing in Le Gosier this week, grabs his first win in 2011 at the last! His opponent was Canadian Pierre-Ludovic Duclos. There was rain delay, so match began later than should have been. We don't know how match goes on due to lack of live score but the final score -which is the important- is good: 6-2 6-4.

Marsel will play his first round doubles match also with his partner Gianni Mina, today.

His second round opponent is Tobias Kamke from Germany. This match is pretty critical. If Marsel can manage to win this match, he'll play against much weaker player in the quarter final.

Huge congrats to Marsel for the first win of the season. Hope this one will give some confidence to him which he needs really too much.

Marsel's Doubles Draw

Marsel is also playing doubles this week. His draw is here.

His partner is Frenchman Gianni Mina. He is the young guy who faced Nadal in first round of French Open, whose face looks a lot like Gael Monfils. He also plays singles via wild card here, and is in Marsel's side at the draw.

Good luck to Marsel and Baby Monfils!

Le Gosier Courts

Marsel will play on these courts this week in Guadeloupe... It looks like Wells courts, even maybe they are the same... Weather looks good there, by the way... Cloudy and sunny...

Marsel's Draw - Guadeloupe

Is here!

Marsel is not seeded as we have a strong main draw here. He is facing another Canadian, Duclos, in the first round, then he will pay Kamke who has a bye in first round. Kamke seems to be out of form lately.

Good luck Marsel!
